Nate of the North Outdoors is a locally owned and operated business that specializes in AUTHENTIC ALASKAN fishing trips. We enjoy pursuing trout, dolly varden, sockeye and silver salmon, as well as halibut, and sharks on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska.

The owner and operator has been blessed with the ability to travel to several locations ranging from the many parts of Alaska to Peru, South America and has been known for having quite a few stories about personal experiences, which helps him get connected to several other outdoorsman who are like-minded and with those who are beginning to want to learn what it is all about.
We provide a warm meal, water, sunscreen, bug spray, a boat and a guide, fishing rods, tackle, and a mighty fine time. All you need to bring is waders, a hat, sweater, warm clothes (long johns and wool socks), polarized sunglasses, and that amazing smile!
We work with clients and teach the techniques used for each species. There are several variables that go into fishing, but no matter the situation, we will do our best to give you the best experience possible!

At Nate of the North Outdoors, we pride ourselves on delivering unforgettable experiences in the heart of Alaska’s wilderness.
The float fishing trip is set up for you to be able to go with a group ( up to three) and your guide.
The guide will row you down the mesmerizing Kasilof River in a drift boat and will teach you about salmon, trout, and dolly varden. You will be fishing out of the boat for some species and will be hopping off the boat to do some shoreline fishing for others, depending on what the group chooses to target.
This trip is relaxing and very enjoyable. The water in the Kasilof River is very similar to the coloration you see on the famous Kenai River with a beautiful light blue/ turquoise color. The largest benefit of this trip is that there is less competition than on the Kenai River.

$215 / Person Half Day (6 hours)

LODGING: The Angler’s Inn Alaska is located in Soldotna, Alaska and will be your primary lodging for the duration of your vacation for an extra fee that is VERY AFFORDABLE!
The fee includes a meal during your trip, using the guides gear and tackle, the guide, water, sunscreen, life jackets and photos of your trip!
On this trip, you will hit the beach and head to our local hotspots for 4-6 hours in hopes of catching the fish of a lifetime! You will have opportunities to catch halibut, spiny dogfish shark, flounder, skate, Irish lords, pacific cod, sculpin or a bonus species!
Your guide will have transportation, water and a cooler. The guide will pick you up at your place of lodging (5 miles outside of Soldotna to 10 miles outside Kenai) or will meet you in town. You will be using a 12 foot surf fishing rod that your guide will set up for you and will teach you how to fling “ bombers” out into the waves! Learning how to cast a 12 foot rod with anywhere from 4 ounces to nearly a pound of weight is no easy task, but we know you got what it takes!
Ice fishing may be a chilly fishing trip, but it can be a lot of fun! Some of the most memorable moments during fishing are actually done when ice fishing because you have the ability to see the fish through the hole in the ice. Jigging techniques and different styles of lures are used to get the fish excited and entice them to feed. It can be a very fun time getting to see 10-15 fish at a time come swarm your lures that are bouncing around!
Your guide will have an ice fishing hut, ice fishing auger, rods, tackle and more for you and your group! Come join us on this exciting adventure in hopes of catching fish that are TOO BIG to get through the ice fishing holes! Rainbow trout, arctic char, lake trout, grayling, and kokanee salmon are some of the fish that are commonly targeted on the Kenai Peninsula.
